Mike,

I'm not knocking the Rebel and dont want to get stoned form the Rebel builders either :)

..From everything I've uncovered so far, it seems the BH Co is more organized and together than the Murphy company. I havent seen all the updates and modes etc from the BH company that I have from the Murphy co.

Plus , the BH is 4130 welded tubing. Pretty strong and their open to show the plant and how they weld it up etc ect. Thats impressive.

I have asked some pro metal workers abt the diff of the welded vs riveted systems..If i get an answer Ill let ya know.

As far as the Rebel vs the BH ,I prob aught to be comparing the BH to the
Moose..

Take Care..

Mike,

Sorry i got the builders on the site so stirred up. Jeez...Amazing!

Anyway, its great site and very helpful for the builders. Quite an accomplishment. You shld be proud.

If I decide to build a 'Murph' plane, ill def subscribe and give some $ for the site upkeep. Till then im just gonna lurk and read the posts.

Regards,

wm Harvey..

lol, I don't think you got them quite as stirred up as a single comment from one of the Murphy builders... some people expect a little to much in my opinion. There are those who are VERY biased about their airplanes, but most would agree that your perfect airplane is not necessarily their perfect airplane... and of course, not everyone can afford their perfect airplane! Honestly, this list is one of the tamer places for the type of comments you were making... wondering if this or that airplane wasn't better than the chosen airplane of most of the members. There are several lists out there that would have ripped you to shreds for questioning the sanctity of their choice.

Be sure and look me up if you get up this way... and keep trying to find a builder down by you. There are still a couple of areas where I can tell you still don't quite understand quite how Murphy aircraft are constructed. I was originally pretty much decided on another companies airplane, I'd seen several of them and flown in one... then I got the chance to visit with a Rebel builder. Changed my mind on the spot!

You said <<I was originally pretty much decided on another companies airplane, I'd seen several of them and flown in one... then I got the chance to visit with a Rebel builder. Changed my mind on the spot! >>

Thats instructive. Hmm..Well i guess i've got enough time to change my mind several times <G>.

I am giving serious thght abt that Arlington fly-in Wash state..

I have emailed with BH owners in Seward and one up there in Farout-banks..Another is in Soldotna but havent comm'd with him.

Thanks again..

Mike,

Have you seen the Tudra airplane..there email says

<<the TUNDRA assembly is very simple and the fast build kit can be assembled in approximately 300 hours.>>

Now thats something worth considering plus its digitally created by the latest technology.

Herer's there website if you want to look.

Yep looked at it closely when it first came out because it looked so much like an Elite. I think Murphy claims you can build a Moose in 1500 hours... yeah right. One of their factory reps might be able to do it in 300 hours in the factory with all their resources, but you or I wouldn't even come close in our own shop. Also, remember that the time they list is just for the airframe... you still got your engine, instruments & avionics, interior/apolstry, and paint. As the saying goes in the experimental world... 90% done, 90% to go.
