All the aluminum parts in this kit come with a protective plastic coating. This coating is left on during all the preliminary working to prevent scratches. Once you're ready to start deburring and riveting, it needs to come off.
In these photos you can see the protective sheeting being peeled back as the holes in the skin for the stringers are deburred and prepped for riveting.
The skin is very vulnerable to damage until the stringers are attached... you can also see the 2x2's that I used to hold the skin in place while I was working on it.
There is also a good shot of the external doublers that were added on the moose.
I managed to get the 3 stringers on one side riveted on today, and the other side is ready to go.
