Well since the flap skins were made incorrectly I set them aside and got started on the ailerons.

Right off the bat a lot of what needs to be done for the ailerons is the same as the flaps, but there are enough differences that you need to pay attention. I got everything inventoried and laid out on the table and got right to it. I started by trimming the main ribs down just like was done on the flaps, and then drilled and counter sunk 6 brass bushings... again, just like the flaps. This went pretty quickly since I still had everything setup to do this from yesterday. Next I had to cut down 8 rib doublers. 2 of these got clecoed to ribs and one of the holes drilled out to 1/2"... one of the brass bushings was fit into this 1/2" hole and everything was riveted together. The only other thing I got done today was to drill out the small spar doubler... doesn't sound like much for 7 hours of work! A lot of the tedius work has been done, before long the pieces will start going together, and then it'll start looking like an airplane part in short order.
