Hey Mike!

Fabulous construction log website! I've had a good look through it, and it almost makes me believe I can build a plane too!

Hehe!

I've been looking at purchasing a Moose kit, but was wondering what the plans they provide are like? Easy to follow? Lots of pics?

How have you found the pre-drilled hole lineups and such? I notices you had a few problems with control surface skins. Has this been a typical or one-time thing? How has Murphy been to deal with?

Good luck with the build Mike! I hope to see lots of progress posted here. (A ray of hope for us wanna be builders!)

Hi Kevin,

The manual is probably the weakest point of this kit, but as long as you read ahead and understand where you're trying to go you can generally work it out. For those times when you're still stumped, the Rebel Builders List will answer your questions. The manuall has quite a few CAD type drawings, but no photos.

The pre-punched parts fit together beautifully... the problem I had with the flap skins was a mis-located bend, and there were only a few kits that had these. When I contacted Murphy about the problem they immediately shipped me new skins at no cost. I would imagine the shipping alone for this was several hundred dollars. I am certainly happy with the support I've received from the factory the few times I've needed to contact them.

If you haven't had a chance, you should see if there are any flying Moose in your area and see if you can arrange a flight in one. I flew the factory demonstrator a couple of years ago, and it is a very impressive airplane.
