I put the elevator back on the table this past weekend with the intentions of finishing it up. All that needed to be done still was drilling out the center doublers, then deburring, and riveting. But no sooner than I got started I noticed that I had made a mistake.
The center V in the elevater is closed with 2 ribs that are cut to fit. The original SR2500 manual shows trimming these ribs with a small tab bent on the end that get's riveted in place. What I missed with this is that with the Moose upgrade, this tab is left about 4 inches long, and overlaps with the tab from the rib on the otherside of the V.
I'll get some pictures later to show you exactly what I mean, but suffice it to say, I now need to get 2 new ribs to correct this problem.
